Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?

The MonaLisa Touch® uses gentle laser energy delivered through a sidefiring probe inserted into the vaginal canal. This dual-pulse treatment targets both the surface (epithelial) tissue and the deeper (lamina propria) tissue, helping to rejuvenate the vaginal mucosa.

The procedure does not require anaesthesia, just local numbing. Some women may feel slight discomfort during the initial insertion of the probe, but the treatment itself is not painful. Many describe the sensation as a mild vibration.

Most women notice improvement after the first treatment, although the full procedure involves three sessions typically completed over an 18-week period.

It is advised to avoid sexual activity for 2-3 days following the procedure.

It is suitable for women experiencing symptoms related to decreased oestrogen levels, as well as those dealing with effects froma hysterectomy or breast cancer treatments.
